Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a mixed race British-Nigerian child, was born to a family in South London. She has a mother who is English and her father is Nigerian. She attended The Brit School when she was fourteen years old. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She performed in various stage productions during her time at school, including the King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe launched her acting career in the film Storm Damage. Over the past few years Madekwe's appearance in Teachers as well as Doctors. Madekwe landed her first motion-picture role in the Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. Following this acclaim, she played Elisha on her role on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and appeared in six episodes Trexx as well as Flipside. In 2008, she got Bambi's character on ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was in two series, 2 and 3. Madekwe was also a part of 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her credits in the theatre are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe made her US debut with The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show ran just two episodes on The CW, and was later cancelled. In February 2011, she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe's exit from the series was confirmed in May 2013. After two years as the main character she appeared as a guest in the first episode of season 3. The actress portrayed Tituba in the television series Salem from 2014 until 2016. Madekwe, her longtime partner, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. They have worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl and he also was a character on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress was born into a huge family from Hamilton, Ontario. Her parents Roy and Patty and her brothers Brett, Todd, and Bram and Bram, were present. Ashley's four brothers, each of them extremely active, took part in hockey in the winters and baseball in the summers, meaning they grew up mostly in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley was not a walker, but she was a dancer. In the age of two and half, she found Baby Ballet. This was the beginning of Ashley's passion for dance. When she was in High School, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical, and hip-hop. Ashley took home the best soloist honor at each major dance contest, which included International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among some.
